Why I Started This Blog; What You’ll Find Here

hey.

Blogging died, like, 10 years ago.

But I’ve got this Carrie Bradshaw-level itch to write—and here we are.

I’ve been thinking about what kind of site I wanted, what name would feel right. I landed on Life in Melbourne, mostly just to ground it, make it feel local. But let’s be honest: I won’t just be writing about Melbourne. I want to write about everything.

One day, maybe years from now, if I ever have kids, I’d love for them to read this and really know me. All of me. The thoughts, the doubts, the experiences, both the beautiful and the shit ones.

Because life is basically a stream of experiences, some fortunate, some not. And if the people before us were smart enough to pass those lessons down, maybe we’d all have an easier ride. I didn’t get that luxury. But if I can create even a little bit of that for my future kids, or anyone who stumbles across this, that would make me happy.

Now, of course I have doubts. No one reads blogs anymore. Do I? Not really. So yeah, it’s hard to find an audience.
That’s why I’ll write some “popular” stuff too to get traffic.
Because, oh yeah, I’m an SEO specialist.

If you don’t know what that is, it stands for Search Engine Optimisation, basically helping websites get found on Google. I’ll probably write about that too.

So here I am, in the post-blog era, starting a blog.
Expecting nothing.
Just writing.
Practising both my writing and my SEO.

And if you’re reading this, congrats! You’ve found it.

What you’ll find here: mindset rambles, book reviews, Melbourne life, what it’s like living abroad (I’m from Turkey, been in Australia almost 3 years now), relationships, friendship, career stuff, gym life, dumb life, exercise routines, yoga, coffee thoughts, family things, life crises, missing people, FOMO, change, digital marketing… and probably more.

It’s nothing groundbreaking. I’m not claiming to be different.
I just love writing.
And I hope for the best.

Thanks for being here. ♡
